°®¶¹´«Ã½ and the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) are delighted to be working in partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to lead a UK Skills and Chartered Bodies Trade Mission from 13-16 April 2025 to coincide with the and.
Led by the UK Government Special Representative to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Education Professor Sir Steve Smith and senior UK officials, senior representatives of UK education providers – including technical and vocational education and skills providers, English language teaching providers, higher education institutions and industry leaders focused on education delivery – are invited to participate in a series of high-level and bespoke activities to exchange expertise, explore innovation solutions and establish actionable frameworks for workforce development within the SPC.
Engagements will include:
- Business meetings with potential investors and partners.
- Roundtable discussions and workshops with key government ministries, agencies, and stakeholders.
- Education and cultural activities to see skills development activity in progress and meet with other education institutions.
- Possible speaking opportunities or participation in panel discussions during the Human Capability Initiative (13-14 April).
- Workshops and networking sessions with education institutions, key stakeholders, agencies, and employers.
Participants must be able to participate in the full programme:
- 12 April 2025: arrive Riyadh – attend briefing with Professor Sir Steve Smith and UK officials
- 13-14 April: Human Capability Initiative Conference and EDGEx Exhibition
- 15-16 April: EDGEx Exhibition
- 17 April: attend wrap-up discussion with officials before returning to the UK.
Who should apply:
- UK registered organisations of all sizes are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) to join this trade mission.
- Only one person per organisation may participate – senior-level attendance is strongly encouraged.

Selection criteria:
- Essential – your organisation is a UK registered entity that can demonstrate a strong interest in developing skills partnerships in Saudi Arabia.
- Essential – using case studies, your organisation can demonstrate high quality skills delivery and demonstrate positive impact generated through skills delivery.
- Essential – your organisation can present a clear strategy and outlook towards developing an education portfolio in Saudi Arabia.
- Desired – your organisation has existing partnerships or ongoing discussions with Saudi institutions interested in commercial collaboration.
- Optional – your organisation will exhibit as part of the UK Pavilion at the EDGEx Exhibition.
- Essential – your organisation can demonstrate capability and capacity to deliver skills outcomes in priority areas within the SPC, namely:
- Cluster one: Trade, Investment and Financial Services
- Cluster two: Education, Healthcare and Innovation
- Cluster three: Energy, Industry, Transport and Environment
- Cluster four: Culture, Sport and Tourism
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: 1200hrs GMT, Monday 10th March 2025.
- Tuesday 11 March: EoIs to be reviewed by UK officials.
- Wednesday 12 March: outcomes will be shared with applicants.
- Monday 17 March: initial event briefing – hosted online.
